Internal Medicine for Dogs, Cats and Small Mammals

Internal medicine focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting the internal organs and is one of the main areas of veterinary care at AhojVet in Bratislava.

When examining a patient, we do not focus solely on an individual symptom. Our priority is to identify its underlying cause and assess the animal’s health comprehensively. Depending on the clinical findings, we use laboratory tests, diagnostic imaging and other available diagnostic methods.

We Diagnose and Treat Conditions Affecting:

  • the gastrointestinal tract, liver and pancreas
  • the kidneys and urinary tract
  • the respiratory system
  • the skin, coat and ears
  • the endocrine system
  • the hematopoietic system
  • the immune system
  • infectious diseases
  • selected neurological and oncological conditions
  • chronic and geriatric conditions

An internal medicine examination may be appropriate for pets experiencing recurrent vomiting or diarrhea, loss of appetite, weight loss, increased thirst and urination, coughing, breathing difficulties, fatigue, fever or unexplained changes in behaviour.

We also pay particular attention to patients with chronic conditions who require long-term monitoring and regular check-ups.

Our goal is to provide accurate diagnosis and treatment tailored individually to each patient.
