Soft tissue surgery for dogs, cats and small mammals
At AhojVet, we perform routine as well as more complex soft tissue surgery in dogs, cats and small mammals. We provide both planned surgical procedures and operations required as part of the treatment of acute or more serious conditions.
Every surgical procedure is preceded by an assessment of the patient’s overall health. Preoperative examinations are selected individually according to the patient’s age, diagnosis, health status and the complexity of the planned procedure.

Thoracic surgery
With the use of controlled mechanical ventilation during general anesthesia, we are also able to perform selected surgical procedures within the chest cavity.
When the chest cavity is opened, the physiological negative pressure is lost, and the patient therefore requires assisted ventilation during the procedure. Controlled mechanical ventilation allows the anesthetist to control and support the patient’s breathing throughout the surgery.
These procedures require careful anesthetic management, continuous monitoring of vital functions, adequate pain management and close postoperative monitoring.
Anesthetic safety and pain management
We place great emphasis on anesthetic safety, an individually tailored anesthetic protocol, adequate pain management and patient monitoring both during surgery and throughout recovery from anesthesia.
The anesthetic protocol is adapted to the patient’s age, species, health status and the nature of the planned surgical procedure.
Before surgery, we explain to the owner the reason for the procedure, what it involves, possible risks and the necessary postoperative care at home. Postoperative management, pain control and patient follow-up are just as important to us as the surgical procedure itself.
